“This is just the beginning for these students….they are leaders. They are athletes, musicians, theatre members, they are the foundation of Smithtown West.”
Those were the words of Smithtown High School West Principal, William Holl, as he addressed Gold Cord recipients and their families at Wednesday’s ceremony.
Seventy-eight seniors at High School West were honored for maintaining a 4.0 GPA for four consecutive years of high school.
Principal Holl presented the gold cords, which the students will wear at graduation.
Also on hand to celebrate the students were SCSD Assistant Superintendent Paul Strader, and High School West Assistant Principals Derek Soloman and Annmarie Freund.
Each guidance counselor announced the students, looked back at their most memorable high school moments and announced their future college plans.
