High School West senior, Stephanie Godfrey, took a blank canvas and made it a work of art, which should brighten the days of local patients.
Stephanie worked with the organization, , to create pieces of art. The organization seeks volunteer artists to help paint pre-designed artwork designed to cheer up hospitalized children and adults in hospital environments. These pieces are used to make clinical settings (cancer centers, emergency units, etc.) more colorful and welcoming for patients.
“I was very impressed by Stephanie's 25+ hours of hard work to pick up the "grab and go" painting materials from their location in Huntington, and her time spent creating the pieces and bringing them back to the site,” said Social Studies teacher, Joan Havranek.
The artwork is part of Stephanie’s Service Learning Project in pursuit of the Seal of Civic Readiness.
